Kaeya blinks.“That… is some logic, right there,” is the response the knight ultimately lands on.
Or: There’s a big romantic festival coming up, and the citizens of Mondstadt want to ask the reclusive Sucrose out. The only way? To get someone to take Albedo too. Kaeya takes up the challenge.
“I’m interested in these social devices you use. Could you tell me more about them? I’d like to take notes.” Albedo’s eyes don’t waver - those inquisitive, objective, smug eyes - and on his lips is the slightest hint of a smirk.
Kaeya laughs affably, but his smile twinges very slightly with irritation.“I’d be happy to talk with you,” Kaeya offers without missing a beat. “I’m sure you could benefit from learning some of them.”
Then: Kaeya learns, to his dismay, he and Albedo have a lot in common.

Kaeya lets out an exasperated sigh.
Childe overstays his diplomatic welcome in Mondstadt. There’s only one person in town who is remotely happy with this, and it takes convincing.

Meryl mutters something under her breath, soft footfalls receding from where Knives lays. He can feel Vash’s sigh of relief. His brother has never been this concerned for his wellbeing. Knives was always second to Vash’s precious little humans. Perhaps Knives missed something between the release of death and the timelessness of the welcoming void. Just how long had it been anyway?
He can’t exactly ask Vash, not at the moment at least. It takes nearly all of his strength to open his eyes a fraction to see Vash’s distorted countenance. Knives can make out what must be a smile. Vash’s voice is soft, whispered, only for Knives to hear.
“Welcome back, Knives.”

It was a single word, maybe two, things he’d said countless times: Yes, Nai; I’m coming, Nai; Wait for me, Nai. It was nothing, an exhale imbued with sound.
But it tasted like tears on the back of his tongue, an iron crypt in his throat. How could Vash say yes after everything, everyone, that Nai had razed, that Vash had allowed him to? The air for the word was flowing over tombstones.
