Silver was never expecting to recieve a letter back from her sister, Violet, after she sent one with Chase to let Violet know she and her siblings were okay. When the Hollow cousins and Prunella clambered out of that disaster of Cinderella, it was the last thing on her mind.
Now, though, Violet responded, and it outlines a plan... a plan to get the keys to safety. The only problem is that it includes skulking around the farmhouse rafters, hiding a heavily yearning baby brother from the oblivious eyes of his human crush... and, worst of all, lying to Chase.

Summary
Chase Hollow is more than frustrated that of all the keys he could have picked up in that library, he picked up the villain key. It's cracked, the villain characters are usually repetitive, and he can't seem to earn any narratonin.
It is only with the appearance of an enigmatic but glamorous women in the stories alongside him that Chase realizes what the villain key actually holds.

His breath came softly, but desperately, like the last stifling sobs of a child crying themselves to sleep. There was desperation to him, but there was calm in his movements—nihilistic, unbothered peace, a soft expression sliding over dying eyes.

After certain events (that Chase will NOT be telling Deacon about), Chase is more determined than ever to complete his missions of locating all twelve keys, gaining Narratonin, and rescuing Buddy from the clutches of Ex Libris. It's easy, isn't it? Just keep working through stories, right? But of course, nothing is ever as simple as just stories.
