At first, Megumi considered shooting both of the strangers and getting it over with. They attacked them, so why would they deserve any mercy from him? But as he mulled it over, the thought of Yuji and his brother not killing him when they had the chance ate away at his consciousness. Megumi couldn't decide whether to trust the weeping guy's sobs.
Having put his finger on the gun's lever, he thought back on what Gojo said. Did he have the guts to pull the trigger, not just hold it there? Maybe he didn't, and was too much of a coward. All it took was a little pressure to find out.
Yuji cried out, barely comprehensible through his cracked lips. “Don't kill my brother, please.”

A different reporter leaned in. “Fushiguro, there were a few moments tonight where you and Itadori exchanged words on the ice. Anything you want to share?”
Megumi pressed his tongue to the inside of his cheek, that moment flashing back uninvited. Itadori’s crooked smirk, the warm breath against his ear, the shine in his eyes like he enjoyed getting under Megumi’s skin a little too much.
“He talks too much,” Megumi said flatly.
“It looked like you replied,” they pushed.
Megumi offered a slow blink. A masterpiece of unimpressed apathy. “I had to. If I don’t answer, he thinks it’s an invitation to keep going.”
“What did he say to you?” another asked.
Megumi’s jaw ticked, the exact line replaying in his mind with embarrassing clarity.
“Missed you out here.”
He cleared his throat. “Nothing useful.”

“Beautiful as always, Megumi.”
The boy startles at the sound, wobbling slightly off center before recovering. He turns towards the voice, a flicker of irritation bubbling up at the intrusion on his work.
Gojo stands in the doorway, leaning against the frame. Partially encased in shadow, Megumi wonders how long he’s been watching, he doesn't really care. The man opens his mouth, as if to say something else, before deciding against it and turning to leave instead.
“Too bad I’m bored watching. Turn the lights out when you’re done.” He calls over his shoulder, and disappears around the corner.Megumi stares at the space the man had been, willing himself to feel hurt, or angry, or anything at all. It comes up empty.
Yeah, too bad.
