Summary
Dr. Stein has been wrestling with his madness for a while now. But when he finally begins to break down, right after being reassigned away from his long time partner, crush, and ex-lover, Spirit, for the sake of his own sanity, it actually pushes him to do something he would otherwise never imagine doing, in a haze of madness and passion that have both been building up for a while.
Meanwhile Spirit, who himself has been struggling with nostalgic memories of hooking up with Stein and his own unresolved feelings, finds himself flung into the heat of Stein's unbridled desire, waking up in the Patchwork Lab tied to a chair and in way over his head. It’s a cold, winter night, and it’s been a long day. Akira idly sits in one of LeBlanc’s booths, rests his body and mind after investigating Maruki’s palace all day. He’s alone, since his teammates already left the cafe, and Mona’s rooming with Futaba for the night. For some strange reason, he’s not tired. He should be — again, being in a palace for hours proves to be incredibly exhausting.
Akira gives in. If his body doesn’t allow him to sleep, then he supposes he won’t. Instead, he checks his phone. His screen lights up, and he’s greeted by a very familiar phrase in his notifications.
I’m alone right now, it reads. Goro also adds a simple request: Can I visit you?
Or, Goro visits Akira at LeBlanc late at night. They spend time together.
