Summary
It has been half a century since the government had fallen. With the ever-growing number of alphas, keeping peace in the traditional way had become impossible. Katsuki lifts himself up and blinks, hard.
“Wait, what the fuck? Pause,” Katsuki suddenly says. “That was super fucking weird. I’d never fucking do that, what? Why did – I. Deku: I wouldn’t do that.”
Izuku smiles, nodding, “I know, Kacchan - it’s okay!”
“What the actual fuck? I don’t know why the fuck I said that, holy shit, like what?” He looks up. Huffs out a small laugh, raises a hand to curl his fingers into his ashened strands. Gets that far away look in his eye again.
Katsuki whispers in a bit of a sing-song voice, “That was sooo fucking weirddd,” he laughs and looks at Izuku again. “Right? That was, like. Like, fucking weird to say?”

Izuku was positive that the life he lived was not one of any grand design. No one in this world or the next dreamed of mopping vomit off of a dancefloor or wiping down mysterious liquids from the carousel, yet here he was, sweating under the fluorescent lights on his hands and knees. Children screaming around him, next to him, tripping right over his feet as if he wasn't getting bile out from between the tiles.
What a life to live.
A deep breath as he stood up, readjusting his shorts before continuing on his way, the rag in his gloved hand clenched so impossibly tight that it might as well have turned to dust.
This was the last year, his thought as comfort. His final summer at this nightmare job and then he would finally graduate and start work where it actually mattered. No more summers at All Might Entertainment, the best superhero-based children’s arcade there was.
