Summary
"Come to finish me off?" he asks the darkness, surely knowing exactly who he is speaking to.
The question is loaded with irony and Lyney loathes it, wishing the suggestion had at least an ounce of truth to it. It doesn't, of course, no matter what Lyney's desires might be. At the end of the day, despite their ancestral rivalries, werewolves and vampires live under alliance in Fontaine. They could never kill each other without making sure a war would follow.
That is, perhaps, why Lyney finds himself so addicted to playing this dangerous game. And it's also why, upon seeing Wriothesley bleeding on the dirt, Lyney knows his choices are limited.
Curious to see Wriothesley’s true form, Lyney trespasses into his territory on the night of a full moon—only to realize he’s bitten off more than he can chew.

"You aren't going home yet, are you?" But Lyney couldn't leave even if he wanted to, Wriothesley’s gaze has him caught in a live trap. "How about a little game of poker between you and me? Just the two of us. I can get a room upstairs.”
It's hard not to think about the implications of it, though. There's a splash of disgusting heat on the back of Lyney's neck. His biggest shame is how badly he wants to say yes. He hesitates, faltering, irony fails him. He should put an end to this now, walk out of the bar and meet Lynette halfway to Hotel Bouffes d’ete. That's what he should've done all along, before they had crossed so many lines.
What a fickle thing the human mind is, how hatred is so close to passion, how tension is so close to sex. Lyney knows better.
"And what exactly do I win?" He asks anyway.
During a game of strip poker, Wriothesley and Lyney strip themselves of more than just their clothes.

Summary
Angel presses on. "Do you want to die?"
Of course he wants to die.
He wants to die just as much as he wants to live. Just as he is now devil and human, just as Angel is both beautiful and monstrous. Aki swallows the smoke and it kills him a little, just as it makes life a little more liveable in return. That's how it's been for most of his life.
"That's not what this is about," he says simply, unable to explain it.
Alive, Aki has survived by selling away his heart. Alive, Angel's memories have come back along with guilt. They find solace and understanding in the only person who sees them for what they are.

Summary
How fucked is that? That it took this long for there to be a person who sees what Lyney’s offering and thinks to question the sincerity of it. That Lyney could be standing half naked in a frat guy’s bedroom and said frat guy would offer him tea and hand him his shirt and make sure he’s okay with being there.
Lyney’s not going to cry about it, because that would be stupid and vulnerable and very unsexy, but he thinks about it for a fraction of a nanosecond because he’s human, alright? And then he thinks, for much longer than a fraction of a nanosecond, that he is going to let Wriothesley do absolutely anything he wants to his body.

“Shit.” Dice gingerly touches his arm, the bruise violet today. Watercolor in his skin, transparent in Dice’s hands. “God, I’m sorry I hurt you.”
Gentaro twists his arm, concern the furthest thing from his mind. The fingertips pressed into his skin in purple are as much his doing as Dice’s. Half-nude in his own apartment, in his own bed, honesty comes a little easier to him. His barriers lower.

Summary
Aki feels sick. He can’t stop. He tastes his own blood in Angel’s mouth, and beneath that the sickly sweetness of ice cream, and beneath that…something, something that draws him in, makes him deepen the kiss, licking into Angel’s mouth to get at that incredible taste. It takes much too long for the realization to hit him: that taste is Angel, just Angel, finally with no barriers between them.
Aki jolts away again, his breathing ragged. His body so badly wants to keep going, but he denies himself and steps back, wiping his mouth on the back of his hand. He stares at the mess left behind, his own blood indistinguishable from Angel’s. It makes him want to spill even more.
“What now?” Angel asks.
Aki looks at him and sees all the ways he could hurt Angel, all the places he could cut and claw and bite—yet, in the same moment, he sees the ways he could bring Angel bliss. Pain and pleasure, now impossibly intertwined.
“I have an idea,” Aki says.

Summary
“You’ll be at next week’s show, right?” Lyney asks as he’s zipping his clothing back up.
Wriothesley cocks his head to the side. “Why, Mr. Lyney, do you miss me already? I haven’t even left yet.”
Lyney grabs a hairbrush off his vanity and chucks it at Wriothesley’s head, which Wriothesley catches easily. “You’re insufferable,” he huffs, but he doesn’t deny Wriothesley’s claim.

Wriothesley doesn't think much about what he's doing with Lyney, until Lyney disappears into thin air for months without a single word. The hell is that about?
