Anne can’t bare to live in the Shirley household further on, the Cuthbert’s are too old to take her in so the Lacroix plus Gilbert take a grieving Anne in. She learns to accept her grief and begins to heal as time moves on. Living with Gilbert sparks some tension and their friendship has them questioning if they’re perhaps more than friends…
OR:
Alternate Universe where Anne’s parents live and then tragically die from a car wreck and then the Lacroix’s plus Gilbert take her in. (Also Mary lives because I say so.)
