But Temari was pretty. With a pretty sharp wit and a pretty difficult attitude to top it all off – or so it seemed Sunday morning when he woke up to her trying to sneak out. Temari in the morning light acted a little different from the girl he met at the party. Abrasive, brash. Maybe alcohol made her more mellow, agreeable. She wasn't the kind of girl he usually navigated towards, not calm or gentle.
But Shikamaru didn't completely dislike Temari. She seemed like a challenge, and instead of feeling put out by her ironic words the morning after, he felt… thrilled. It was weird.
Maybe he should text her.

They walk through the tunnel, and Yuji is being suspiciously quiet. He keeps looking over at Nobara, and he’s got this horrible look on his face that tells her that he’s attempting to use his brain. Nobara swings her hammer at her side. Megumi’s frog hops behind them; she feels a little queasy every time she hears the moist pads of its feet connect with the tunnel’s stone floor.
She tries to ignore the weird feeling, that pit gathering in her stomach. Something about this little girl is strange, and yet so familiar. She’s smiling at Yuji, and Nobara realises that she’s right– something is familiar about this little girl. She can’t put her finger on it, but she recognises that smile. Yuji almost stumbles over a rock, and her face changes into a little pout– Nobara swears she’s seen that pout somewhere…and those amber coloured eyes.

A time travel disaster on a mission leaves Nobara and Megumi coming to grips with a future neither of them understand.
