    Abaddon turned his head, watching to make sure the deer had actually left and not turned around for another go. When he saw the flick of a white tail dash far off in the woods, he refocused on his injury.

    He sniffled again, this time noticing an onslaught of warmth. What in the seven rings of hell?

    Abaddon pulled one of his hands away from his face to look at it, curious as to why it was wet.

    His hand was painted red, a puddle of blood sitting in his palm. It ran between his fingers and fell to the floor, bright and thick.
