Summary
“You’ve…put a lot of thought into this,” he observes, taking one final, depressed sip of coffee before placing the mug on the desk.
“Uh-huh!” Dick agrees cheerily, clearly delighted that someone has recognised his effort. “Started thinking about it at school last week! We were being quizzed about animal habitats and all that stuff, and it got me thinking!”
Bruce stares, not quite following. “…About Superman being a penguin?”
Dick reaches a perfectly logical explanation about Superman's mannerisms, which forces Bruce to do some serious self reflection. After all, the fact that he likes Clark's weird habit of giving him random trinkets as gifts doesn't mean it's romantic...right?

Summary
“I said I wanted to be left alone, Alfred,” he says, but there’s no anger. It’s flat, and that grates in a different way than Clark expected.
“Well, I’m not Alfred, am I?” is how he replies, and Bruce—doesn’t freeze. Nor does he tense or relax. He basically fails to react at all, instead reaching out to grab the glass of what Clark assumes to be bourbon, judging by the smell, from the coffee table.
“You can leave me alone, too,” Bruce shoots back without hesitation, and then knocks down half the glass in one go.
After Superman had returned from that doomed future, Batman had been adamant that he'd never believed his death in the first place. But, judging from how Batman suddenly isn't speaking to him anymore, something isn't quite right. Clark decides to tackle the problem at its root - he needs to talk to Bruce.

“You’ve been telling them that we spend the weekend together, sometimes. That’s not exactly explicit, Clark.”
So of course, it circles back around to—“It’s not obvious enough?”
Bruce hums, the tone simultaneously flat yet thoughtful. After a moment, he half-turns the chair back to the computer. “Maybe,” he says, and twists his head to raise a brow at Clark over his shoulder, “you just need to take a more direct approach.”
Clark and Bruce have been in a very happy, very committed relationship for the past year, and it's been going great! The only issue? No one else seems to be getting the memo, no matter how much Clark tries to tell them.

Bruce breathes, letting the air whistle quietly through his nose. He doesn’t open his eyes just yet, taking a moment to feel the sliver of golden sunlight peeking through the curtains as it streaks across the bed. It falls across his back, warming the top of his spine and the nape of his neck. It’s rare for Gotham to experience such a picturesque morning like this, especially in the midst of autumn.
And then—the briefest shuffle of movement. Something akin to a smile tugs at his lips, and Bruce opens his eyes.
This, he thinks. This is the problem.
Because a reasonable person shouldn’t enjoy being trapped in a time loop.
Bruce has dealt with many things that go beyond the realm of science - and out into the mystical and magical. However, he's...never encountered a problem quite like this.

Sometimes Sora dreamt that Riku’s eyes were yellow again. Everything would be totally normal and suddenly Riku wouldn’t be Riku anymore. His eyes were yellow and cruel and he looked at Sora like he was a bug. A bug he wanted to take his time squashing.
Sora was used to the bad dreams now.

Summary
Riku had never missed one of Sora's birthdays and that was absolute fact. He kind of intended to change that tradition with this one, though. Sora had dozens of other friends. He was popular, captain of the soccer team, everything Riku wasn't and would never be. Why should he go to his childhood friend's stupid birthday party when they've barely talked in three years?
He might have actually skipped it if Sora hadn't actually invited him, but, well - even if they weren't friends anymore, it was hard to deny Sora anything.

The first time Sora called, Riku mistook it for an emergency.
“Riku!” Sora cried. “I’m so glad you picked up!”
“Sora!” Riku responded in kind. To his immense relief, Sora looked alright, if a bit blocky. Was that the phone’s camera, or a curse of some kind? Riku didn’t know.
“See? That’s Riku!” The phone whizzed around, image streaking blurry, and Riku came face-to-face with a crowd of… oversized toys? What? “Isn’t he identical?!”
“Oh, yeah!” A green dinosaur crowed. “I can definitely see the resemblance!”
(In which Sora just keeps calling, and Riku can't help but be charmed.)
