First time I laid eyes on him I wanted him. I couldn't believe how beautiful he was. Blond hair, blue eyes, and that wonderful smile- I wished it was me he was smiling at like that, not Mr Durham. I started to think about him all the time. Started to wish it was him when I was with Milly, or another girl or sometimes another lad. I had all these thoughts in my head, about him going for a stroll in the woods, and me being there, making him forget Mr Durham for good.

Summary
The world has fallen on hard times, the winters are seemingly endless except for the bursts of hot summer that always seems to leave too soon.
