Harry dropped the two rubbish bags in his hands. One of the bags must have contained some spilled juice or sauce because he could feel wetness seeping into his ballet flats.
Louis’ hand which had been stuffed into his windbreaker pocket revealed itself as the alpha held up his fist to knuckle at his eyes. He blinked rapidly before he rubbed at his eyes again and squinted.
“Harold?”

Summary
Louis tried to shove the spatula under the mess again, but when it grated noisily against the bottom of the pan, Harry jumped in.
“No, not like that!” he said, horrified, as he darted over to snatch the spatula from Louis’ hand.
“Fuck’s sake,” Louis muttered, throwing his hands in the air in defeat. “You’re the one who insisted on teaching me how to cook, I don’t know why you’re surprised I’m bad at it.”
Harry made a pained little expression. “You’re not bad, you’re just… a little careless.” Delicately, he scraped the burnt mess onto a spare plate, where it landed with a soft thud and began leaking pancake batter.
Louis stared at his abomination of a pancake in dismay, poking at it with his fork.
“At least not all of it is burnt?” Harry tried, wincing.
Or, where Louis can’t cook for shit, and Harry is his stressed-out firefighter neighbor who is fed up with answering calls to his own building.
