“Uh.” Gi-hun had only ever been reprimanded for talking. The compliment was disarming. “Thank you.”
The man was looking at him expectantly, hands stilled above the keyboard. He gestured with his shoulders as encouragement. “Maybe some crow facts?”

Gi-hun eyes the box, black with a pink bow on top, with suspicion. His fingers slide the ribbon off, his other hand removing the lid.
Inside is a black collar with silver hardware.
Leather, soft on the inside with deep blue stitching. Gi-hun’s eyes go from puzzlement to realization to surprise.
“We don’t have a dog! Are we-”

The dim light from outside made In-ho’s face look like a statue, something imposing that would proclaim his prowess in battle. Bit startling, staring that down. Scary and a little sexy. Gi-hun swallowed, hard. Reappraising his assessment. Very sexy.
And then In-ho smiled, lips parting. “I’ll have you know I don’t make a practice of bringing strange men home with me.”
“I guess it’s good I’m not a strange man, am I?” Gi-hun’s nerves jangled, his skin hot, his tongue slow and stupid. In-ho was biting his lower lip, his eyes focused on Gi-hun’s chin or nose, some spot below his eyes.

He’s been preparing for this day since he knew he wanted to help lead a group of soldiers; he knows it’s his duty to marry the CO to whom he is assigned. But he’s always longed for a marriage based on love, not just duty. He’d always dreamed that one day he would marry someone who he utterly adores, someone who he never wants to live without. Someone he can laugh with, who shares his interests in cricket and nature, someone who he can share a gentle stroll with and who makes him utterly happy -
But they’re at war now.
Anthony knows he needs to put these fantasies aside for the good of his country. He has no idea what the Captain of Button House is like, and while he can certainly hope that they share some things in common and might get along quite nicely, he must not allow himself to believe that this is anything more than a strategic marriage, as all military marriages are. When Robby ambled in a little early for his shift, central was a hive of activity, Walsh calling back to Jack as she accompanied a gurney out of Trauma 2: "Learn from the master, soldier boy."
"When you find one, be sure to let me know, princess," he shot right back, but the note of fondness in his tone made Robby freeze. That wasn't their usual back-and-forth. That held warmth to it. An undercurrent of knowing. A joke shared between two people who'd seen each other naked. More than once.
Robby clocked Jack watching Walsh go—what the fuck—and then he went back into Trauma 2, debriefing with the team. It was the tiniest moment, nothing—
And yet Robby's whole understanding had just realigned. Jack and Walsh. What the fuck.
