There was no one left to pray to. No angels he cared about since Cas had been taken by the Empty. No God. There was Jack, whatever kind of God he was, but Dean didn’t pray to him either. He prayed to a thing inside himself. A creature who cowered and whined and hid its face under the blanket of a Hunter’s disguise, telling itself over and over that it was good. It was good and righteous and it had saved more than it had killed.

At eighteen, Castiel Novak thinks he’s an adult. The X’s on his hands at the music venue say otherwise. So does the bartender who shuts him down with, “I don’t think so, kid,” when Castiel asks for his number.

Summary
Every time Dean had been on his knees for Cas, someone's life was on the line. Every time he had gazed up at him, lips parted and eyes pleading, their relationship just grew more and more complicated.
This time, however, was different. Pleasure rushed through his veins instead of pain, his eyes shined with unshed tears that stemmed from euphoria rather than grief, his lips that were once swollen from unforgiving hits were now plump and red from rough and unyielding kisses. Being on his knees for Cas, like this, was deliciously uncomplicated.
Dean had never considered himself a worshipful man, but being on his knees in front of a flushed and wanting Cas might just be what changes his mind.

Summary
When Cas comes back from the Empty, Dean has to rethink everything about their relationship, and Dean’s new, post-Chuck duty.
He wants Cas to be happy and get what he wants. So, if he wants Dean, then he has him. Dean’s new responsibility is to be the best boyfriend Cas will ever want or need. If that means moving out of the bunker, and not driving the Impala, and letting Cas fuck him, then that’s what he has to do.
It’s an easy deal. It should be an easy life. So how come Dean still can’t quite make sense of it?

-- John HarriganAfter a witch hunt gone awry, Dean notices Castiel acting strange. With Sam’s help, he figures out what’s going on with the angel—he’s coughing up flower petals. Turns out his best friend (whom Dean’s most definitely, 100% not in love with) is not only in love with someone else (not that it matters because, again, Dean is not in love with Cas), he needs to find his happily ever after or else he may not survive. The problem? Castiel won’t tell him who he’s in love with (and fine, Dean may have some feelings for the guy).
