Summary
Desde su primer viaje en el Expreso de Hogwarts, James Potter supo que había algo mal con Severus Snape.
No era por su aspecto desagradable, ni por la sombra del futuro mortífago que ya se intuía en sus ojos. Era algo mucho más visceral: James, simplemente, no podía dejar de mirarlo.
Mientras Lily Evans permanece entre ellos como una herida abierta, el engaño se convierte en su único refugio. James finge cortejarla para ocultar su obsesión, y Severus se aferra a ella como al último fragmento de una vida mejor. Sin embargo, cuando la guerra estalla y el mundo mágico comienza a desmoronarse, las máscaras caen.Mientras Severus arriesga la vida una y otra vez por una causa que jamás se lo agradecerá, James empieza a comprender algo horrible sobre sí mismo. Él no se considera un monstruo, ni cree estar haciendo algo malo; en su mente, no hay nadie en el mundo que merezca a Severus más que él.
James siempre creyó que el amor estaba hecho para salvar a las personas... hasta que la obsesión por Severus Snape le enseñó que lo único que realmente quería era conservarlo, sin importar a quién tuviera que destruir en el camino.

A Draco le ardió el pecho al escucharlo hablarle así. Con eso confirmó que Harry no recordaba absolutamente nada de lo que habían tenido.
-¿Qué es lo que quieres? -Draco alzó la barbilla y se forzó a usar el tono que solía emplear en el colegio.
-Esto va más allá de lo que quiero, para mi horrible suerte. Porque, si me preguntas qué quiero en verdad, sería jamás verte a ti ni a los de tu clase y tal vez arrancarte el cuello.
Draco no respondió. Se cruzó de brazos, resistiendo como pudo para que todo su cuerpo no temblara.

His classmate reaches out like he’s going to pat Katsuki’s shoulder.
Katsuki moves almost before he even hears the faint, barely-there crackle of electricity: a low buzzing noise that makes his body brace in anticipation. He grabs Kaminari’s wrist and yanks him off-balance, then plants a hand on the back of his classmate’s neck to slam him face-first against the closest desk. His palm automatically flares with heat, that trained instinct to destroy the potential threat, and he smells singed hair for just a moment before his entire body goes suddenly, achingly cold; a shift in his internal temperature that happens so quickly that it’s as if somebody has just flipped a switch.
His head snaps up. He realizes for the first time that the classroom has fallen into almost complete silence, broken only by the sound of Kaminari’s strained breaths.
From the doorway, a tired voice says, “That’s enough.”

La Orden del Fénix es apenas un puñado de fantasmas cansados intentando resistir otro invierno más. Harry Potter desapareció hace mucho tiempo y, con él, algo esencial dentro de todos los que alguna vez lo amaron. Todos siguen avanzando únicamente por costumbre. Hasta que, Hermione descubre algo imposible. Draco Malfoy sigue vivo.
Y quizás eso sea peor.
Draco no confía en los Gryffindors, en especial si son mejores amigos del hombre que dice protegerlo.
