“Hi, Mackie”, Will says softly, a little tinny and far away.
“Hi”, Mack rasps. He crawls onto his too-soft hotel bed, curls up on his side. He feels Will’s absence like a weight on him, scraping his skin raw.
“So, I watched the game”, Will says, even and neutral. Mack lets out a small, ugly chuckle-sob.

Garrett pulled away slowly, his jaw clenched. “I’m sorry. But do you get it now? It’s not just about Hannah, okay?”
Logan finally blinked. “Oh.”
There were a million words Garrett wanted to say. He wanted to explain the depths of his feelings, how Logan was the constant, nagging thought at the back of his mind whenever he took someone new to bed, until Wellsy. Instead, he just clenched his jaw.
