    Jinshi tightened his grip on Maomao's shoulders. He wanted to say more, but his throat had run dry, and Gaoshun's words were ringing in his ears.

    You just have to stay away from her for a little while.

    But Maomao was so… Light. Airy. Flustered. Glowing, even. And, God help him, she smelled so, so good. Like every dessert he had ever craved - except the desire was no longer to taste sugar but the pearl of sweat beading down her exposed collarbone, and Jinshi imagined it would be salty, but slightly sweet, too, like all the best desserts are, perhaps eliciting a slight moan–

    “Master Jinshi?” Maomao asked, her tone tilting with concern.


    Certain members of the Inner Court pull Maomao and Jinshi into scandal. Neither wish to take part, but they don’t get to choose - so which techniques will they employ to win their side?
