This entire situation was absurd.
Abso-fucking-lutely absurd.
He was in love with Izuku—who was in love with Shouto—who was also in love with Izuku, and yet knew how Katsuki felt and seemed… fine with it? Not just fine. He was actively keeping Katsuki’s secret. Helping in his own weird, endearing way. Add to that his growing crush on Shouto and, well—it was a clusterfuck, honestly, and sometimes Katsuki felt like he was breaking under the insanity of it all.
But he couldn’t break, not then, not when the two assholes were sitting in his living room.

“What the fuck are you doing?”
Izuku squeaked, spinning around to face his roommate with a red face.
“I—ah—”
“Why are you in my kitchen?” Kacchan demanded, staring at the oven with wide eyes that would have been comical if they weren’t borderline murderous.
“I… was trying to bake,” Izuku answered, rubbing the back of his neck. He could feel the blush spreading from the tips of his ears to his neck.
Kacchan made a face, giving him an incredulous look.
“Why?”

Katsuki's scowl deepened and he made a rude gesture with one hand—which was promptly grabbed by Izuku of all fucking people, who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Izuku—Deku—who looked at him like he was a damned teddy bear instead of a force to be reckoned with, who grinned at him like he was his world, his grip loose but certain, unwavering as he raised his eyebrows in a challenge and tugged him toward the others.
“Come on, Kacchan! We're going to play a game!”
Fuck.
Glare fixed firmly in place, Katsuki allowed himself to be led toward the rest of his class; everyone was starting to sit in a circle and Deku dropped down beside him, tugging him down as he settled comfortably on the floor. His hand was a comforting weight against his, an anchor that pulled at something in his stomach, and Katsuki sat beside him with far more grace than the other had managed.
He eyed the cup clutched tightly in Deku's other hand, its contents sloshing dangerously over the edge of red plastic.
Yeah, this was definitely a stupid bad idea.

You’re detaching, he reminds himself, mentally slapping his own forehead. You are emotionally detaching like a well adjusted adult who absolutely did not give the guy you’ve been in love with for years an insane gift at a Christmas party to force a reaction.
