Summary
Despite the ice under his feet, Flame's rage runs hot in his veins. Wemmbu walks with stumbling steps, searching for the first ray of sunlight that will lead him out of this cave and into the surface. He dreads the moment he reaches it anyway; all these hours underground have made his eyes so used to the dark that the brightness of the morning sun could very well blind him completely.
The same ritual follows every fight. No matter the outcome, no matter the amount of casualties or injuries in his own body, every fight ends the same way.

Summary
Tim makes his way towards the Batcomputer, and Jason, swallowing any remnants of his pride, trails behind him. Tim pays no mind to him as he opens the Scarecrow case file and starts typing away. Loud clanking sounds fill the room with every key pressed, and Jason is left wondering if he should still make an effort.
“Timmy. Come on. I’m trying to make amends here.”
Tim jerks his head towards him with sharp eyes and furrowed brows before quickly turning back to the files on the screen. He keeps typing, adding in to his report, adding nothing to their already one-sided conversation.Despite being on good terms with the Bats, Jason still insists on doing things on his own, much to Tim's discontent.

When the bombs first went off, the synchronized explosions rattled Gotham to her very foundations. Gotham’s Town Hall, where the explosives were set under and around, collapsed, water pipes burst, but everyone thought that was the end of it—another attack by one of the rogue criminals contaminating the city.
A lone Bat wanders through the remains of his city with no purpose as he recalls the events that led to this point.

He feels hands on him, the pricking of needles, a cold that renders his body a shivering mass of skin and bones. Jason's gaze lands on a pile of videotapes on the shelf closest to the computer. They’re dusty, stacked so only the side panels are visible, with wobbly red drawings on the white labels. His breath hitches when he realizes what they are. The dead eye of a camera lens obstructs his vision and he’s back in that warehouse, trying to focus on the blinking red light instead of Joker’s crowbar and pliers and cruel hands.
Jason is back in the Batcave for the first time after his resurrection, and he comes across something he shouldn't.

Dick watches as streaks of rainwater run down the window, some slower than others, some mingling and becoming one bigger drop that slides with speedy determination. The outcome is always the same—no matter the route, the speed, the consistency, they all reach their finishing point that is the gap between the glass and the wood encasing it.
He tries to focus on this mindless race, in hopes that his mind will go blank and the heart beating painfully inside his chest will finally subside.It’s a particularly rainy night in Gotham, and it brings out memories Dick wishes he could finally forget.
