Summary
An argument with Dana leads you to second guess your relationship with Baran. When you go home early and things don’t go as planned you believe the relationship is over.

“What are you doing here?” She huffed, catching her breath. Baran hadn’t meant anything by the question, but it felt like a punch to the gut. Anxiety immediately settled in and you could feel the need to retreat into yourself.
You quickly let go, as though you were burned, and took a step back. Your throat was painfully dry. You wiped your hands on your thighs and clasped your hands in front of your body to stop from twitching.
“Long day, got to leave early.” Baran barely looked at you as she continued to clean. You felt like you were intruding in her space. You bit your lip, unsure of what to do with yourself.
“Do you need help?” You offered. Maybe being useful would help to at least keep you busy. You weren’t necessarily sure it would make you feel better, but you had to try something. You didn’t enjoy cleaning like Baran, but you didn’t want to be rude either.
“Absolutely not.” That stung.

"Tell me," Maeve teased, her voice breathy but laced with a dark, simmering edge. "When the cameras are rolling and you’re forced to lock lips with Kevin... tell me, do you close your eyes and pretend it’s me?"
Megan let out a sharp, melodic laugh that vibrated against Maeve’s collarbone. She nipped lightly at the sensitive skin just above Maeve’s chest, enjoying the way a shiver racked the other woman's frame.
"God, yes," Megan breathed, pulling back just an inch to meet Maeve’s gaze. "If I didn’t pretend it was you, I’d probably vomit out of sheer cognitive dissonance. That would be a tragedy, wouldn't it? Ruining the 'Fire and Water' PR fantasy because I couldn't keep my lunch down."
Maeve chuckled, the sound dry and tired, running her fingers down Megan’s spine.
"So, you're saying I really help you get through it?"
Megan stopped her ministrations, her expression turning serious. Her dark brown eyes searched Maeve’s, finding the same exhaustion she felt mirrored there.
"You're the only reason I'm not in a psych ward,"
