That’s what Midoriya Hisashi had said to his son the weekend of Father’s Day.
They were sitting on a bench, opposite sides, a much too wide gap between the two. In fact, to any passerby, they probably looked like strangers sharing the same seat by coincidence.
Izuku supposed they were.
“I know,” Izuku murmured, his hands were clasped tightly in his lap, thumbs digging into the familiar ridges of scar tissue that lined his skin. Hisashi nodded, taking the response in stride. “I don't hate you, though.”
“Yeah,” Izuku said quietly, glancing down at his jeans. “I know that too.”

Kacchan slides a very familiar letter across the table to him and asks, “What the fuck is this?”
Izuku really feels like he’s about to explode.
Because that letter is possibly the culmination of the biggest feelings he’s ever had: love, and all of it for Kacchan.
Izuku wrote it at thirteen. When he knew that his best friend since diapers would never return the feelings, but Izuku felt like they were so heavy they needed to be shared.
He wrote the letter, poured his aching, crushing tween heart out onto two and a half pages of college ruled notebook paper, and addressed it in his best calligraphy. To: Kacchan. Izuku remembers his thirteen year old self debating before adding on a little explosion sticker.
Now, at seventeen, he’s debating the pros and cons of jumping out of the nearest window.
OR: Izuku writes Katsuki a love letter. 4 years later, Katsuki receives it. Izuku is still very much in love with him, and Katsuki is very much not.
