Rin’s face does not change so much when he is confronted with Isagi’s climbing outrage. “When have I ever joked about something like this, lukewarm?”
“You can't—you can't just—” Isagi cuts himself off and the starting phrases of his sentences one by one, feeling incredibly irate and out of touch with this sudden assignment. Rin waits for him to finish articulating his very fine points, gaze unrelenting. He takes a deep breath, making sure to make his voice as assertive as he can. “Why me?”
