“You don’t need to do this” he blurted, voice strained.“Consider it a birthday gift” she insisted, going back to her work. Shirogane held her wrist frantically, desperate for her to just give him one second of respite. Kaguya whipped her head towards him, glaring straight into his eyes, grumbling
“Why are you so obstinate?” she got up, half standing.
“Shinomiya” he said, sternly, trying to stand his ground.
“Shirogane” she replied, equally firm, her other hand still on his thigh, using it as leverage to get up to his eye’s level, looking at him directly. She had gotten closer than a hair’s breadth to his face, accidental or purposefully she couldn’t place.
She gasped softly as Shirogane gently glided her hand down his leg at a more chaste position near his knee, his fingers just above her pulse which was strongly thrumming under his thumb. She whimpered. Like a small, helpless cat under a wolf’s sharp gaze. The room’s temperature rose, like someone was fiddling with the non existent heater of this room.
