Summary
in which the class of 78 must come to terms with death, dying and their own mortality. i mostly wanted to do some deep-dive character studies to see how the killing game and these character's ultimate demise would affect their personality.
this was originally created to be related (but still stand-alone) pieces. but then i decided to make it a series of 30 chapters. but i already was too far in and couldn't like delete and repost. so i had to keep it as an anthology instead of a chapter series. heck. i goofed
major thh spoilers. will probably end up being mostly angst and introspection, but i've planned out some fluff stuff too.

Nine o’clock comes, and true to her word, Lute is outside of the towering golden doors that lead into Adam’s personal penthouse. She’s dressed in her usual attire, albeit a little more put-together and not covered in sweat, blood, and whatever else came with a long day’s worth of training and sparring. However, the mask has been discarded in lieu of this evening’s activities. Despite how much she loves rocking the fearsome look, Adam prefers her without it for their weekly meetup. It struck Lute as strange when he requested it originally, mainly because Adam preferred to keep his mask on while Lute’s face remained bare. Shame. That’s the only thing she could imagine as his reasoning. Adam rarely removed his mask for anyone, but especially in moments where he felt vulnerable.
Call her twisted, but she finds his humiliation kind of cute.

Ouma removed the lollipop from his lips and offered it to him, smiling knowingly as if he knew everything that was going on in the astronaut’s mind. Maybe he does. Momota moved his head and captured the candy in his mouth without missing a beat, as if this was perfectly normal.
The candy tasted sweet and artificial. Nothing at all like cherries. Disgusting.
Ouma’s smile was sweet and artificial, too. But for some reason, Momota didn’t think it’d taste just as bad. The thought sent a wave of dread through his stomach. He looked away and cracked the candy in his mouth.
