Ilya hadn’t known the video existed. If he had known, he would have paid someone to have it destroyed. Would have paid someone to murder Kuznetsov, maybe, just for redundancy's sake. But it was peak stupidity, to keep evidence of your homosexual perversion around in a country where that crime could get you sent to jail for several decades, and Ilya hadn’t thought that Kuznetsov would be that dumb.
Now here Ilya was, watching a video of his fourteen-year-old self on Twitter getting fucked by his former hockey coach.
So. There go the plans for the rest of his life.

So wonderfully written, perfect pacing, believable dialogue, and excellent characterization.
Perhaps most impressive was how un-saccharine this was. A lot of these kinds of fics tend to get overly sappy, letting characters act in ways that either force the environment to become implausibly accepting and supportive or break the audience's suspension of disbelief.
The realistic chirping, animosity between team members, the lack of Yuna kicking Ilya's door down... very good choices on the author's part. 😄

Soap seems to be laboring under quite a few terrible misconceptions about what sex is supposed to be like. Simon is not about to let those misconceptions stand.

I... actually cried reading this. Don't get me wrong -- it's superbly written smut. But there's also so much realism woven in. It shows how easily and quickly people conform, let themselves be dehumanized (and no, I'm NOT just talking about the ones who lost the war), and rationalize compromise because the alternative is too horrifying to bear.
I cried when Ron managed to have the very last "first" Hermione could give him, and still managed to tell her he loved her despite having no voice...
And the scenes with Pansy, such great showcases of what the "winning" side allows itself to suffer when led by toxic, flawed ideology...
Excellent work. Looking forward to reading more.
