Sokka and Zuko have been roommates for a while. There’s nothing out of the ordinary about them, if you disregard the fact that Sokka has been alive for longer than the United States has been a country.
One would expect such an ancient being to be wise, but no, he’s just a hot jackass, much to Zuko’s dismay.

To be honest, the reason Wise hadn't been looking for a roommate was that he didn't particularly want to live with a stranger. The apartment above Random Play was small, and with Belle that was fine… but with someone he didn't know? What if they didn't get along? What if they were messy? Or loud?
Not something Wise wanted to deal with.
“Not me, a friend. He's… a little down on his luck, but he's a great guy, I promise!”
Or, Belle heads off to college and Wise finds much more than a new roommate in Lighter.
