Summary
Back in the day, Robby had called Samira 'his best intern'. Half-joking, with a smile and a faint wink, but it had been real; an honest reflection of her growing skills, her eagerness to learn. And then she'd found him in the pedes room shortly after Dr Adamson had died, and it had all gone to shit. In the intervening years Samira had worked and studied, honed her dedication to her patients and turned her search for mentorship elsewhere.
And then PittFest happened.
This is how Samira and Robby find their way back to each other.

“Samira,” he murmured, “who did you lose?”
“My father,” she replied, and gave him an unbalanced smile. “Cancer. The summer holidays the year I turned thirteen, I spent them with him in the oncology ward. My mother couldn’t cope. But I spent the whole time watching the doctors, watching them help him.”
He hadn’t looked away while she’d been talking, not once, and she remembered the way he’d looked in the bar that night after work, when he’d put two fingers under her chin and raised her gaze to his to tell her she’d be a good doctor someday.
His mouth trembled. Softly, he asked, “Does it get easier?”

Summary
Later that night, much later, after Coma Guy’s heart has been successfully implanted, House buys Wilson dinner.
“Your need to be needed is so strong you give people what they want - ” House puts one hand on Wilson’s leg, “ - what they need - ” he props himself on his good knee and slides his hand up Wilson’s thigh, “ - what they think they need - ” he touches Wilson’s suprasternal notch, the faint hollow between the wings of his collarbones, and trails one finger up Wilson’s throat to his jaw.

Summary
Sprawled in the hotel corridor, waiting for the telltale sound of Coma Guy shuffling off this mortal coil, House twists, unthinking, onto his left hip, curling towards Wilson like a sunflower to the sun. His right leg twinges, and he clenches his jaw reflexively and hisses through his nose. But his movement jostles Wilson’s hand, which slides around to cup the back of House’s neck, long fingers curling around his spine, thumb by his ear. It’s perfect kissing territory, and both men freeze.
