  1. My Modern AU for the Slayers by

    Summary

    Context of this Modern AU:
    Aoi and Kanao are med school students in the same college together. They’ve been friends since science class in junior high and did clubs together, where they met Shinobu and Kanae. Kotoha is alive and Inosuke is a total mama’s boy but a bundle of energy with a mean competitive streak. He's done various sports throughout his youth, including tumbling/gymnastics, karate, capoeira (one of his favorites), basketball, kendo (another favorite), pretty much anything. Inosuke, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu went to the same elementary school together. Tanjiro's mom Kie was Kotoha's first friend and helped her leave the cult she joined as a means to get away from her abusive marriage. Aoi and Inosuke have been dating since meeting in an advanced bio class in high school. It was Aoi’s 3rd and final year of school and Inosuke was the only 2nd year student in the class. He absolutely loves science, especially learning about plants and animals, but he just doesn’t want to continue on studying after graduating despite stellar grades. Given his background in a ton of sports, he’s working as a personal trainer while Aoi is in school and they live together with Kanao.

    Adore this. Perfectly captures the vibe I think they have with how Aoi's feelings grew and why their energies match. Very very close to my own headcanon and feelings about them as a ship. I'd love to see 4 and 5 animated so much.

    “A crush is different from just liking someone.” Aoi takes a slow breath, forcing herself to speak normally. “It’s when you get that warm, tingly feeling around them. When your stomach feels weird—like butterflies. You want to be near them, spend time with them, be together.” She hesitates, then adds, “Like Tanjiro and Kanao.”

    Inosuke listens carefully, which is already a bit shocking. His expression shifts, thoughtful, his lips pressing together as if he’s rolling her words over in his head.

    Aoi starts to relax. Good. He gets it now—

    “But that’s how I feel with you.”

    Short and sweet and oh so cute and hits a lot of marks that I absolutely love - Inosuke saying Aoi is strong, Inosuke learning domestic skills because he wants to impress Aoi, Aoi giving in and just cuddling on the couch together (and the description of how she relaxes into the cuddles is so real feeling.)

    "Have you ever had sex?" Aira asks suddenly, without turning her head; too absorbed in the movie that was getting far too explicit for one labeled as a cosmic sci-fi. Jin almost chokes on his peach soda, and only after a very long and very awkward pause finds at least a drop of power to form a reply.
    "Yeah."
    "Was it this good?” She continues, and points at the couple on the screen moaning so... loud.
    “Sort of.”
    “Sort of?”
    “I guess it was meant to be fun, but I was worried that if I relaxed too much and something cold dripped on me... well, you know."
    There it was, the moment of silence before everyone remembers he is the awkward, possessed boy. It is then followed by supportive looks and sympathetic words about how strong he must be, and what a hard life he must have; reminding him, like he needed another reminder, how twisted and complicated everything sometimes was.
    Aira has that sorry face too — she must be now scolding herself for not being careful enough to avoid uncomfortable topic.
    But then she laughs, genuine and infectious, just as he didn't know he needed.

     

    OR: Very few people can manage to stay in love with a possessed person. Aira can. Jiji can too.

    Yaaay, first DanDaDan fanfic I read after finishing the manga and I'm so so happy it could be one of Savvy's and for what's currently my second favorite ship of the show <3
    I love the teasing side of Aira very much and getting into the mind of Jiji, who is an absolute cinnamon roll and I can definitely see him so much like this fic shows. Little fun moments with Momo that highlight it and just a little bit of angst to make the sexy mood pop (which it does well!).
