Summary
Colin Bridgerton embarks on his travels during the off season, just as he had done the year earlier. Only this time, instead of being drawn to the wonder of new cities, he finds himself thinking of home. Specifically, his best friend Penelope, who still hasn’t responded to any of his letters.
When he returns home, Mayfair has changed. Penelope has revealed herself as Lady Whistledown and he finds the ton enamoured with the woman he left behind. The woman who never wrote to him and still won’t speak to him. The woman who, he has realised, he is madly in love with.

Summary
After 10 months of silence, Penelope and Colin are gifted by the broken elevator gods the perfect opportunity to talk things out.
––––
As a television-obsessed pre-teen turned adult whose personality developed out of an obsession with Grey’s Anatomy as a ten-year-old, I can’t help but love a chaotic turned romantic elevator moment. I’m a semi-long-time lurker and first-time writer, throwing my hat in the ring for Polin week with this belated forced proximity number.

Summary
Colin Bridgerton has a lot of things going for him. He's over six feet tall, has silky, chestnut brown hair that curls naturally in a most fashionable way, and a smile that's been known to make women ages 2 to 92 swoon. Beyond the surface-level things, he's also smart and interesting and treats others with kindness and respect regardless of how he knows them and what walk of life they're from. Objectively, he's an absolute catch. Any girl would be lucky to be his, even just for one night. So, why then, at 26 years old and with all that going for him, is Colin Bridgerton still a virgin?
--
Or, the one where Penelope platonically takes her best friend Colin's virginity and helps him through his sexual awakening.

Summary
After Colin witnesses Penelope's failures with men firsthand, he offers to help her learn how to flirt, leading to disastrous results as he finds himself questioning whether he knows anything about women at all, and wondering why watching Penelope become more successful at dating makes him want to claw his own eyes out.
--
Penelope Featherington hates clubs. As soon as she walks in the door and the scent of sweat and body odor overtakes her nostrils, along with the thumping of the base and strobe lights from the DJ booth, she immediately regrets all of her decisions that led her here tonight.
She scans the crowd, praying to find a recognizable face quickly and minimize the amount of time she has to awkwardly stand alone on the wall. She’s spent most of her life in such positions, but normally she had Eloise by her side. Someone to whisper with as they judged all of the glorious people who weren’t too scared to put themselves out there and behave as though they were the main character in their own stories. She envied them. She hated them. Since Eloise moved to Birmingham for work a few months ago, Penelope finds herself struggling to become the main character in her own life.
