Summary
Viktor has planned out the trajectory and lived his life with the knowledge that there is no room for mating and romance. Being a beta, a Zaunite in Piltover, and living with a disability has made avoiding that fate easy.
When he prevented Jayce from quite literally throwing his life away one year ago, he didn't expect the act would lead to partnership in more ways than one. It's a butterfly effect, the impact of Jayce's presence in his life.

“Do you bring all the boys to the back after hours, or is it just the ones who promise to suck your cock as payment?” Viktor dares to get closer, dragging his hand up from his chest to cup the back of his neck, twirling the curls the between his fingers.
The man pulls his bottom lip in between his teeth and gnaws lightly at the tissue. Viktor inches his face closer, until their noses are almost touching, the heat of his exhales warming Viktor’s cheeks.
“Just the pretty ones with golden eyes and an ’04 Civic.” He teases, smirking.
The man waits patiently for Viktor to close the tantalizing distance.
“I don’t even know your name.” Viktor whispers softly.
“It’s Jayce.” He whispers back with a smile.
“Jayce.” Viktor echos.
“Fuck. Please… please kiss me.”

Viktor, a little desperate and pretty broke, advertises to trade sexual favours for repair labour when his car breaks down. When Jayce shows up ready, willing, and able, Viktor finds himself falling a bit harder than he anticipated.

Summary
Jayce’s life's work may have been working to harness magic through science, but nothing in either realm, mundane nor arcane, could have prepared him for V to walk through the door when his world came crashing sideways.
Nothing could have prepared Jayce for V to ask questions like “What happened here?” and “Who authorized your research?”
V—the man who met Jayce in a dark room twice a month, who brought him to the brink of reality with gloved hands, golden eyes, and firm commands in soft tones—was someone who, for some reason, was also in control in a bombed-out room full of enforcers.
