He can’t put his whole back into a lie, like the suits on the acropolis, nor does he think he’s built for pushing drugs or turning tricks in the slums. Pretty much every circumstance is against him.
But that’s all background noise. There's an idiom he's always liked, along with the ones about broken mirrors and tossing bricks to attract jade. It goes: don't curse the rain when you can find an umbrella instead.
