Summary
It's been nearly six years since Aretia burned. Almost six years since the Marked Ones were branded like cattle, and sent off to die in a war that was not theirs to fight.
Daria Sophros has played the game well—entering Basgiath War College, surviving Parapet and the Gauntlet. After failing to bond with a dragon her first Threshing, she is determined to emerge from her next year a fully-fledged Rider.
However, when ghosts from her past come knocking, and a sudden shift in circumstances forces her hand, Daria must make an impossible choice—one that will test the limits of her loyalty and challenge everything she previously believed to be true.
