Clark’s eyes fly open.
Bruce’s heartbeat is way too fast, even for the physical exertion of fighting. He bolts up in bed, calculating how to get someone to watch Conner at this time of night, then unfiltering his hearing so he can get a good idea where Bruce-!
“Ah…”
Clark freezes, heat rushing up to his face.
That… didn’t sound like a pained moan.
---------------------After their date night is interrupted, Clark overhears Bruce taking a moment to himself. It all works out in the end.

Summary
Bruce shakes his head, then checks the small clock on the computer.
3:01 AM. Not an ideal time to eat, but he has trouble sleeping on an empty stomach. Better to eat something quickly so that he won’t be dead on his feet at the meeting in the morning.
He heads over to the main floor, where the kitchen is. It’s obvious from the moment that the elevator door opens that the light is on; initially, Bruce thinks someone just forgot to turn it off, but he hears the sink running.
Puzzled, Bruce enters the kitchen, and then stops dead in his tracks.
There, standing at the sink washing out a baby bottle, is Clark.
A very much shirtless Clark.
