Summary
It was August 30th, 1997, and summer was slowly undoing itself, like a knot he had failed to tie tight enough. Remus didn’t know it yet, but everything was slipping through his fingers...
Following a summer in spent with his friends in Manchester after finishing their GCSEs, Remus' adoptive parents unexpectedly inherit a house in London. That puts in a real spanner in the works for Remus' plans to spend the rest of time getting high with his friends and working as an apprentice electrician at his mate's dad's company. Suddenly, Remus is catapulted half-way across the country and (half)-coerced by his adoptive parents into attending the local sixth form college. Remus was doing perfectly fine keeping everything hidden inside of himself back in Manchester, but from the moment he first sees Sirius, it all starts tumbling out.

This fic is ded one of my big loves. It's genuinely so immaculate at portraying how hard and dire Remus's situation would have been after it all went down and it shows how well he got it together for Harry and I just uh.
I think it needs to be taken into account how harmful some of the behaviour enacted by his friends was upon him as a werewolf as much as they probs meant well, they obviously did things wrong and took it out against him. I do hate the idea tho that Sirius being a Black is the same. Like being part of the Black family in magical society was Def a privilege.

He stuttered, and Lily gave him another smile.
“Well, I’d say being friends is good enough. That can be my gift from you this year.”
Remus blinked, seeming to be at a loss for words. His shock made Lily’s anxieties creep back.
“We are… friends, aren’t we?”
The shock left, and Remus shook his head. He gave her a tentative smile.
“‘Course, if you’ll have me.”

Basically they're all in college and they're all a mess. I’m using this as a way to cope after Season 2 of Arcane because they all deserve a happy ending. Fuck you, Riot (Not really.
