“Constant movement," he answers immediately. "Like your heart and body are on the edge of an abyss. Or running on a tightrope. You can’t slow down or you’ll fall.” He mimics the movement with his hands. He loves doing that. Flitting gestures with his hands. I like it, too – it makes his stories more mesmerising. I close my eyes, try to imagine what he was describing. Comparing it against my own imagination. “Or drift, I suppose. But that’s letting gravity control you. And in the sky, you must seize control. That’s how we fought the dragons. We stole their domain right out of the sky.”

Zephyr, taking advantage of a brief lapse in his father's volatile behaviour, finds a strange boy - too eloquently dressed to be a crow - about to be robbed by other fledglings from the slums. He helps fend them off with the intention of robbing him and taking all the spoils himself; only to be made an offer he can't refuse.
Lloyd, a highborn angel from the Temple, is on one of his frequent escapades when he becomes fascinated by a charmless crow who has a smile that makes the recipient want to jump into a river. Well, not that he'd ever seen him smile. But Lloyd has a certain... knack for people that gets them smiling soon enough.
And so a twisted friendship is born.

The passage from the book has compelled a deep irritation in her, and the activity of reading is a difficult one.
Pair that with her typical lack of patience and it is a great feat that she has stuck with this.‘What is that guy even saying?’ she spouts eventually. She crosses her arms,
tucking her chin close to her shoulder. ‘That’s too many words.’‘What do you suppose he might be saying?’ Alhaitham bats back.
‘Paimon! Is asking! The questions!’ she reiterates, each syllable a violent slap.

Alhaitham remains my favourite character after all these years. The other being kaveh. I feel like you can't truly know Alhaitham's philosophies without Kaveh to counteract them, as his mirror.

They werent kidding on the sex LOL. such a well written fic, i think pacing was handled so well for a 400k long work. The first third was my favourite because I think it’s close to how questioning!saitama might act in canon trying to reconcile whether he might wanna try a relationship with Genos. (Also the best depressed saitama ive read imo)
