Draco sighed, “What do you want, Potter?”
“To talk.”
“Isn’t that what we’re doing now?” Draco asked, eyes flicking to the lift indicator. It had just a few floors to go.
“I mean properly. Sit down. Have a drink. Catch up.”
Draco turned back to him, brows raised. Potter wore that familiar look of stubborn determination, the one he’d had when he stood before the Dark Lord and taunted him like the maniac he is.
“Why?” Draco asked flatly. “What’s the point? We’ve never been friends. Why pretend now?”
“I don’t want to be friends,” Potter said, still wearing that infuriating look.
“Then I see no reason for us to continue this conversation.”
“I want us to date.”
Draco’s mouth fell open. Thank Merlin, no one was around to witness the mortification radiating off him like heat.
“I’ll owl you,” Potter added casually, like Draco had just agreed and confessed a lifelong crush.
Which was absolutely not the case.
