Summary
“If it is forgiveness you seek for killing my father, you will not find it here,” Alicent says over a scoff, over a nasty sound.
Her daughter sleeps behind her in a cot thin as parchment. Her father’s blood seems still beneath her nails though she has not touched him. The city outside groans under its new queen, Aegon has fled, Aemond has taken Harrenhal, and yet Rhaenyra stands in her stripped room, crownless and terrible, asking for judgment as though Alicent has any right to give it.
Perhaps she does; and perhaps that is the final cruelty.
tldr: the one where they slowly reshape the future of Rhaenyra’s reign, mend what has been broken, and rebuild their own family from the ruins. the slowest of burns, really.

Summary
For Channing, Pelican Town was the farm and the summers she spent there—the only place that ever felt truly stable.
Haley was always a part of that. Every year ended with a goodbye that never felt permanent, because Channing always came back.
Haley learned to trust it.
Then one summer, Channing didn’t return. The seasons passed without her, and Haley was left behind. She watched the road until she finally realized no one was coming. Letting go meant accepting that Channing had chosen a life without her.
Ten years later, her grandfather’s death forces Channing to come home. She returns to the weathered fences and quiet fields of the farm, only to find that the past isn’t as buried as she thought. Haley is still there—changed, guarded, and hurt by what was left behind.
Can two people who became strangers find their way back to the love they started years ago, or is it too late to salvage?
