They say a lot of things about her. The siren. She’s prettier than an angel, and her hands are permanently stained red with the blood of the men she’s slaughtered. She looks beautiful from afar, but up close, it’s obvious that her teeth are shaved to sharp points. She’s able to read the minds of any sailor within a certain radius. She sings songs they know. Causes them to jump into her waters so she can devour them.
Two moons ago, Haewon was made to walk the plank. When she came to, it was in the belly of a cave, body seizing as she choked up water, the siren hanging above her.

“I miss you, Lily,” Haewon admits, voice low. I loved you, is what she doesn’t say. I think I still love you. She didn’t say it then, so she doesn’t feel Lily deserves it now.
Lily’s lips part in surprise. Her breath hitches. She can’t think that Haewon wouldn’t miss her, could she? Haewon doesn’t know how it’s possible. It’s practically pouring out of her at any moment in time— this thick, sticky longing for Lily that she doesn’t know what to do with. It has been since the day they met.

Summary
There's a convenience store a few blocks from Haewon’s bus stop. It's technically in the wrong direction—technically not the closest to her apartment, either, but the closer option requires walking past her apartment and down another block, which feels worse somehow. She'd rather stop on the way home, even if it means walking a block in the wrong direction.
She likes to stop and eat before she gets home. She likes the twenty minutes of peace and quiet somewhere that isn't her dark, empty apartment, somewhere that feels marginally less lonely but devoid of the stresses of her everyday, devoid of the weight of academia and the smoke of the gogijib.
She likes Lily, too.
Or: Oh Haewon falling apart and falling in love.

Summary
Across the room, Yoona slouches before the mirror. Phone glued to her hand, neck bent in her regular pose. Same spot she claimed two hours ago. Same posture: shoulders curved inward, spine bent like a fisherman's hook.
Haewon watches. She tells herself she’s not looking, exactly; she’s just aware. It's passive. A leader keeps track of her members, notes when someone’s been awake too long, when the fatigue starts showing in the spaces between blinks.
Haewon begins to notice things she can't ignore, drawn towards Yoona all of a sudden. Before she knows it, she's falling deeper into the mystery of her emotions.Bookmarked by parthepillon

Summary
As the marketing team starts gathering their things, the girls are still staring at the array of Lily’s crazy faces on the screen. Haewon is examining those other Lilies so intensely, the real Lily has to look away. She turns back to the screen too and catches the text I hope this girl never gets media training just before the marketing assistant closes the laptop and makes the image disappear.
