Summary
God, he loved Oscar’s eyes. He'd always felt like there were stars stored in them, and even when envy clawed at his throat, Logan would look at his eyes and let himself think, he looks so handsome and nothing else. With Oscar, Logan let himself feel like a regular person, without the pressure to be the best.
That pressure might never exist for Logan again.
“I’m sorry.” Logan didn’t know how he’d intended for it to come out, but the words ripped out of him like a sob. “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Oscar soothed him. “You’re okay. I love you.”
“I know.”
What Logan should’ve said was I love you too, because it was true. It had been true for years.
Yet he’d never managed to get it past his teeth.

Summary
She should’ve called him when she knew. Said, “Hey, Benny, so a funny thing happened.” But Beth has only ever been good at doing the easy thing. Or perhaps just very bad at doing the hard thing.
One thing that’s infinitely preferable to coming up with the right words is saying no words at all. One thing that’s infinitely preferable to taking a leap of faith is doing things the way you always have. The devil you know.
Or, Beth gets pregnant in New York. She doesn't tell Benny.
