Coveted, unwanted, persecuted or cast aside, it matters not; the beast that wears his face is always parched. What will it be this time? Forty, maybe fifty years until Daniel stops using kinder names for Armand’s transgressions? It’s much too soon to fall back onto old patterns, Louis’ absence still to crystallize fully and his weakness for Daniel a ruminating, living thing inside of his dead chest, making a bigger space for itself every second.
