Summary
An exhausted pyrefly with tattered wings flounders over a war-torn land, desperately searching for a safe place to endure the suffering of what remains of her broken existence.
An abandoned flame with burned faith smolders inside a shadowed castle, desperately yearning for the one who will end the suffering of what had been his cursed existence.
Both seek a death that they could never hope to truly obtain. Even still, future life can be found amongst the ashes of past sins—sins that barely separate a lowly Tarnished from a lofty demigod.
Be it in death, or in life, black pyreflies and serpentine embers are destined to be found alongside one another. So long as they find the strength to persevere…
