“Grayson, here.” Damian holds a Superman mug, Dick’s favorite, out to the older hero after he couldn’t find where they were stored. “The mugs are kept in this cabinet.”
The crisis starts with a mug.
Well, not really.
It starts with a realization from a mug.
“Thanks, Dami.” Dick smiles at the boy— the teen- and takes the mug into his bigger hands.
There’s a stark moment of just… clarity. Like suddenly he’s able to see new things- notice new things.
When did Damian grow up?
When did Dick stop recognizing where his favorite mug was kept?
When did he become a visitor again?
Thinking about it, Dick isn’t sure he knows “home” as well as he thought he did.
