Summary
It was good that he came. It’d been 13 years since he saw Aaron last, and it was long overdue.
Coming home for Christmas in the village was a lot more than Robert thought he’d be ready for. Who knew all it would take was 13 years, a boy he’d loved since he was a kid, and a time capsule in an old tin box?

Summary
Robert couldn’t believe that this was what having a best friend felt like. The last best friend he’d had was Andy, and Robert didn’t exactly love the way that turned out, but he couldn’t imagine ever not liking Aaron. He was the best person Robert knew.
Aaron was hilarious without trying to be, and the way he would laugh when one of Robert’s jokes wouldn’t land made Robert never want to stop making Aaron smile, no matter what he had to do. He’d embarrassed himself over and over again just to get Aaron to shake his head and call him an idiot without the slightest bit of heat to the words. Every moment made Robert feel like maybe - if Robert could ever be so lucky - he was Aaron’s favorite person, too.
Sixteen years old is dull in ways that movies and television never want to admit, and every minute felt like a countdown until he could escape. But life didn’t work like that. At least, not for Robert.
Aaron couldn’t possibly be the one to change that. Could he?

Summary
He felt Robert nudge him gently when it was his turn to hand over their entry tickets, and he was reminded how happy he was to have some time alone with Robert, at least. They hadn’t had much time to themselves outside their bedroom, and even then it was met with the ticking clock reminding them that the day was starting, with or without them.
Or, Aaron and Robert’s day at the theme park on May 30, 2016

Summary
“Alright, he’ll be a bit disoriented for the first few minutes, but it shouldn’t last long. Give him these if he feels like he needs them, and I’ll just be right outside if you need anything,” the nurse said, handing Aaron a cup of ice chips before leaving him alone with Robert.
He pulled the visitor’s chair up and sat next to Robert’s bed, shaking the cup to keep the ice from sticking together while he waited for Robert to get his wits about him.

Summary
Even as the sun sunk lower in the sky and cast a pearlescent blue glow through the windows, the sunlight battling with the yellow fluorescent lights shining down from the ceiling, Robert still managed to look like he was made of gold as he shrugged off his coat and folded it over his arm. Aaron watched him walk further through the library, taking his now familiar path before he was out of Aaron’s sight.
Aaron didn’t meant to stare, but he knew he had a few minutes before Robert would make his way back through the aisles.
Or, the one where Aaron works at a library and has a not-so-secret crush on a certain library frequenter.

Summary
It wouldn’t be so bad if it were just the music. Aaron actually quite liked holiday music, so long as it didn’t start well before December. And with Christmas only a few days away, he’d do well with letting it set the mood.
But no. There had to be singing.
Or, Aaron's neighbor is much too keen on Christmas music.

Summary
He knew, in the back of his mind, that it was their Connection that was sending sparks rushing through him, numbing every sense until all he knew was Aaron, but the realist in him – the one that grew up never believing that fate could bring two strangers together and bond them. The one that believed it could never happen to someone you knew, that it was meant for those with more poetic souls that lived life as if love was all there was – believed he would have felt this way about Aaron regardless.
Or, Aaron and Robert don’t exactly have the meet-cute worth writing home about, but Fate has other ideas in mind.

Summary
"I just don’t get it the way you say you did. The way people act like it’s this normal thing that people feel, but it’s got to be more than that, right?”
Robert, for once, didn’t say anything. He just looked at Liv before he cleared his throat, the crease in his eyebrows back. “Liv, I’m not sure if I understand what you’re saying.”
Or, the sexuality crisis Liv wasn’t expecting.

Summary
It was supposed to be his and Robert’s stag party before their wedding.
Robert had thankfully suggested the trip to Vegas, and once Vic got wind of the idea, there was no stopping her. And Aaron had yet to meet the person who was able to resist Vic’s wide-eyed begging.
Robert and Aaron aren’t the types to get wasted and party, even for their own stag nights, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to make the most of it.

Summary
They’d gotten eyes from a few of the mothers, some nasty as they pulled their children away, but many more with kind smiles and bright eyes, no doubt thinking they were Max’s dads, plural.
Looking down at Max’s juice stained lips and the way Aaron’s eyes creased as he laughed, any feelings of dread he expected to feel at the thought of co-parenting a six year old faded away.
Or, the one where Aaron is a single parent and Robert is very much on board with the idea.

Summary
When he lost his scholarship and couldn't afford college, he needed a way to make money, and fast. Why disappoint his father any further by begging for cash? In hindsight, he should have known things would go downhill from there. It started as an accident the first time it happened. He went home with a guy and ended up $100 richer. But when a surprise visit from his friends sends him into a panic, he does the only thing he thinks is right. He runs.
Based on the beautiful lyrics by Ed Sheeran.
