Talc had been in Lomic’s family for generations, the proud story of his capture by Lomic’s great great great great great grandfather a well-known fireside story that was also passed down from parent to child.
Talc had been a casualty in a border skirmish, abandoned by his party after an arrow left him wounded in one leg and unable to keep up with their speed, at least, that was how Lomic’s great great great great great grandfather had told the story. Grandpappy had rescued the poor thing, nursed him back to health, and then trained in the ways of farming rather than battle.
