Summary
Rin has always been a forgiving person. Father and all the other priests in the church always talk about how important it is to forgive people, that they will only ever see heaven because God is willing to forgive any sin as long as one repents for it. He’s not very good at remembering their other lessons, but this is one that comes easily to him.
It becomes harder once Rin learns the truth of who he is, of what he is. But he figures that being half-demon only means that he needs to repent all the more, so he clings to that forgiveness with everything he has.
Rin forgives and forgives and forgives until his heart is raw and bleeding from the pain of it.
Exorcists know the Bible just as well as Rin does. “The son shall not bear the sin of the father.” It’s written right there, clear as day, so why does everyone treat Rin like he’s Satan himself? Why are demons kinder to him than humans have ever been?
Why is he still at True Cross Academy?

But the Air Nomads are gone. No wonder Zuko’s bond doesn’t include one.

Or: Zuko, Sokka, Suki, and Yue are soulmates. Zuko ignores the bond. Then, Yue learns who their missing soulmate is, and Zuko decides Sokka and Suki must never know.

“I don’t believe it!” Toph raises her voice. “Are you Lee? Lee from Ba Sing Se? Teaboy Lee?”
“Don’t mention that, please,” Zuko feels his face turning red....
....“I have a feeling I’ve just gained an incredibly problematic ally.”
Sokka can’t bring himself to hurt her.
Suki, as it turns out, has no such qualms.
“That’s a problem for our future selves.”
“It’ll be a problem not just for you two, but for me too,” Sokka mutters under his
