Summary
This fic is a divergence from canon after starting from season 1 ep 9. Miguel and Sam break up in canon after their fight at the beach party after he jumped to conclusions and picked with a fight with Robby and accidentally hitting her.
I always wanted to a what-if and thought it would be good idea to explore this situation. This story starts from the moment where Miguel and Sam talk in the hallway after their practice test for SAT.
Miguel accepts Sam's invitation to go out when she invites him to Salt and Straw in the hallway unlike canon where he rejects and tell her he needs to practice to for the tournament.
My idea is to keep this story close to canon while exploring the relationship of Sam/Miguel while the tensions rise because of personal drama between our characters as well as dojo rivalries.
