Summary
He hears the door open behind him; doesn’t turn, just keeps watching the early morning sunrise and presses his back against the cool metal of the roof railing. There are familiar footsteps against the cement, and a smile curves his mouth upwards despite the exhaustion that weighs him down. It’s been a tough day, a rough shift, and he stares into the beginning gray of dawn as the footsteps grow closer.
“You’ll get cold up here,” he says over his shoulder, hearing an amused snort in reply.
