    As he moves closer to the door, Shuichi can make out the shadows of an engraving on the metal, though he’s not quite close enough to make it out in proper. He notes the pinkish-yellow light spilling out from the cracks between the door and its frame. Whoever’s name is on that plate, they’re probably inside.

    Inside… waiting for him… to play out a fantasy.

    Shuichi feels a chill run up his spine, feet coming to a halt a few paces away from the mysterious door. He lets out a steadying breath, and pans his eyes up to the glistening inscription of the name plaque:

    Kokichi Ouma

    Shuichi nearly takes off running right then and there because of all people–- of all possible people–- he’s about to enter the dream of Kokichi Ouma.

    Shuchi took a breath, still feeling slightly wobbly, and was surprised to see something wary in Kokichi's face. He leaned back a little, as to avoid towering over him.
    "Kokichi, I don't understand what you want from me."
    Kokichi stared at him and for just a moment his face was neutral again. Then he snickered, with a mocking tone to it.
    "For a detective you sure are an idiot, Shuichi."
    Shuichi looked away. He sure felt like an idiot.
    "I-I'm sorry..."
    "Welp, can't cure stupidity, right?"

    (A rewrite/continuation of Kokichi’s love suit bc Shuichi wanted him to stay goddammit)
