Summary
It’s not a complicated decision. It’s a this-or-that, a pure ultimatum laid at Hawks’s feet, because Dabi doesn’t fucking trust him. Hawks has had it too good for too long, playing double-triple agent with zero recourse, and regardless of where his real loyalties lie—if he even knows the answer to that himself, anymore—he can’t keep getting away with it.
Hawks’s laugh fades into a humored smile. “Sorry, you caught me off guard. I’ll be serious,” he says, waving his hand in a markedly non-serious manner. “So I let you burn your handprint on me, or I leave and never come back? Those are my options?”
“Pretty much,” Dabi says. “Or you could die. That works too.”

“Japan’s favorite edgy nepo baby,” Hawks greets him, making a gentle landing a little ways down the alley. His wings’ downdraft tosses up bits of stray litter from the ground. “You seem lost. Do you need directions?”
Dabi turns around. Flames spark at his fingers but don’t ignite. It’s strange to see him hesitate, considering his quirk advantage; Hawks is pretty sure he could win if Dabi decided to attack him, but it’d be a pain in the ass and he’d lose a lot of feathers. If the fire comes out, flight would be wiser than fight.
“Japan's second-favorite edgy nepo baby,” Dabi corrects him, presumably in deference to Shouto, and—Hawks begs to differ. He said what he said.

Dabi licks against Hawks’ skin while the Hero’s breathing starts picking up again. The sound of it brings warmth to Dabi’s face, ears burning. What insane idiot would enjoy this? Did he know he’d like it? Or is having Dabi drink from him fulfilling some secret fetish?
He’d be more upset if he didn’t taste so fucking good.
