Summary
Ilya is not going to steal Shane Hollander's dog. That would be illegal. And wrong. And someone would probably find out and make Ilya give him back.
So. Not stealing.
But there is nothing wrong with giving Chernysh all the pats and treats that he deserves, is there?
Nothing wrong with encouraging Chernysh to spend more and more time at Ilya's house until he doesn't even remember who Hollander is.
Because Hollander is stupid and boring and does not deserve a dog as good as Chernysh. No, he doesn't, does he? Because Chernysh is the best boy in the whole world, yes he is.

Incredible concept, felt so true to character even within a very different setting, ❤️🔥 and devastating at the same time. Triumphant ending!

Summary
Ilya laughed.
“That bothered you?”
”You have no idea. Half the time I use the tiny scraps of information you give me to look them up anyway. But you’re so cryptic. You’re like,” Shane put on a little voice, “‘Ah, we might have a layover in Charlotte, but am not sure, could be Atlanta.’ Infurating.”
”Ok, Hollander, I will send you a calendar invite. This is seductive to you, yes?”

It’s been months since the cottage, and Shane is finally coming to visit Ilya. He hasn’t been back in Boston since the day he ran out the door saying he couldn’t do this. Ilya is spiraling, just a little, not knowing where they stand in this new and fragile thing. Boyfriends, probably. He’s never been someone’s boyfriend before.

Super cute. Early boyfriend days. Somewhat belated DTR, bit of a tunameltdown fix-it/do-over, Ilya is a great host.

Summary
In another life — or maybe the next one, or maybe the one before — Ilya Rozanov learns that some roads only lead to one place. No matter how you take them, the wolves are always waiting at the end.
Maybe that's why, in December 2008, Ilya wakes up with the distinct, inexplicable sense, that he has already lived this life before.
Some things, it turns out, are inevitable. The question is whether he is.

Bookmarker's Notes
I think this might be my favourite time travel fic I've ever read. And time travel is one of my favourite tropes so that's a high bar. It hurts so good and then it provides such wonderful catharsis. It feels like such a love letter to life itself, to perseverance, to hope, and faith and doubt too. It makes me think about how people say you can't be brave without fear, I think you can't really be faithful without doubt. You have to be a little unsure for the commitment to mean anything. You have to be choosing to believe knowing it could all go wrong but having faith anyway, that it's worth it to believe and hope even when the doubt tries to drown you.
